Sign uploading tips

Tagify is pretty flexible when it comes to signage you upload but here's a few rules it follows:

  • You can use any JPEG, PNG or PDF but they'll always be converted to JPEG.
  • Tagify will try it's best to preserve the colorspace of your image coming in. CMYK typically is going to end up with CMYK coming out.
  • 9000px x 9000px is the max image size before Tagify automatically reduces the image size for you.
  • 250mb is the max file upload size.
  • 150 megapixels is the max upload resolution.

Megapixel?​

A megapixel is 1 million pixels. Tagify's image upload limit is 150 megapixels, so 150 million pixels. You can calculate your images megapixels by multiplying it's width and height.

Long story short, it's recommended to keep your images under 9000x9000 to keep everything running fast while still having your signs look good.

Uploading PDFs​

PDFs are a wild file format so here's some notes on how they work in Tagify:

  • Only the first page is used.
  • Trim is handled before uploading. Tagify reads the PDF trim size and shows a rectangle in the sign upload preview. Doesn't look right? Click on that crop button to make adjustments.
  • CMYK in will be CMYK coming out. RGB in, RGB out. Mixed PDFs will go with the majority colorspace.
