Brand aliases

While editing a brand, you might notice the Aliases setting:

Brand alias

A brand alias is just another name for your brand. But when is this useful?

When you Import/Export via Excel Tagify reads your data coming in with your spreadsheet. If you've got a Brand column it will look at your Brands and see what the closest match is. For instance, if you've got "MAGIC HAT" in your sheet, it should find your brand named "Magic Hat".

If you've got clean data like that coming in, then it works great! But we both know we don't always get that lucky when it comes to working with pricing data. Using the example above, let's say instead of a clean "MAGIC HAT" coming in, it's actually "MAGHAT". Tagify is going to look at that and throw it's hands up!

But don't worry, if we add "MAGHAT" as a brand alias to our "Magic Hat" brand, Tagify will know that you actually want to use your "Magic Hat" brand instead.

Pretty nice!
